What Happened?

Monday 30th, 2024 at round 6pm our EliteFlix started experiencing stability issues, the system is hosted overseas at a Datacenter, unfortunately the entire datacenter system and infrastructure was affected including our own system, it was notified to our team that the Datacenter was going out of business!

This resulted in our system being unstable i.e. downtime, reboots, system crashing with zero response from the datacenter team at such a short notice.

SmartBox is a device just like your phone, laptop etc. Within the device, we run specific applications, applications are what is known as APK. Just like any application, there are times where the application (brain) is filled up or starting to run slowly, how to clear the application to your requirements:

NOTE.

Clearing Cache VS Clearing Storage/Data is very different, read below to find out what is suited for you, if in doubt, Clearing Data is a full APP reset

Why Does It Happen?

We use Emby (application) to run our service called EliteFlix, sometimes when the Emby App developers decide to make changes to improve for the future + Audio Quality of Content is always improving for the future so we need to adapt to the requirements.

Solution:

Step 1. Open EliteFlix

Step 2. Click on Settings (top right)

What Happened?

Friday 24th September, at round 6pm our EliteFlix system went down, the system is hosted overseas called at a Datacenter, unfortunately the entire datacenter system and infrastructure was affected including our own system.

This resulted in our system not operational at all and users missing out on the much loved EliteFlix (emby) system

Backups?

All backups were with the datacenter under a secure facility which luckily our team were able to get, which made life for the team easier for restoration and resulted in EliteFlix Master V2 to be born within 1 day of downtime (result in total downtime of 2 days)

SmartElite (Paid LIVE TV Service)

This is designed for LIVE TV, the primary focus of this is LIVE TV.

The Movies and TV Shows that is available within this paid option is BONUS option (content that is there as a bonus but is not managed as priority hence the wording BONUS.

We can remove the bonus option but have this to provide best value for $$ however, this as mentioned again is not the priority for SmartElite (LIVE TV) Service.

There's a minimum recommended internet speed to stream video from websites and services, such as Netflix, Hulu, Vudu, Amazon, Youtube, SmartElite and EliteFlix. If your internet connection has difficulties loading a movie, and if this happens every minute or two, the connection may not be fast enough to stream movies.

IMPORTANT NOTE.

Before reading any further please note the important - Ondemand Service i.e. Netflix, EliteFlix, Youtube work different to LIVE STREAMING - SmartElite (Premium) service.

What is the difference? Simple Terms:

1. LIVE TV (Premium - SmartElite) - is LIVE Feed/ Streams (plays live - not stored in database)
